Description

Giulio Iacchetti did not only co-create this first instalment of Il Tornitore Matto withAlberto Alessi, but also participated in the project as a designer, offering us thereinterpretation of an ancient type of jug called a conca, common in central and southernItaly. It is a capacious vessel used to contain and transport water. Equipped with twohandles, the conca was either balanced atop the head to carry it, or left at the entranceof the home, allowing people to drink as soon as they arrived. Iacchetti maintained thetraditional shape of two opposed and stacked cones, and worked on the design of thecharacteristic handles to create a single curved line that traces out the object’s entireprofile.##SPECIFICATION##Vase/container with handles.
